FAQs – What Prospective Students Ask Most
The School of Education offers a two-year Master of Education in School Counseling (MEd), a three-year online Doctor of Education (EdD) in Education Administration and Leadership with an optional concentration in Jewish Education, and multiple Advanced Studies certificate programs in areas such as blended learning, computer science and technology, differentiated instruction, English language acquisition and development and adaptive physical education. Advanced Studies certificates were created in partnership with the Center for Teaching Excellence to meet the needs of Nevada educators.
Yes. All School of Education programs were designed with working professionals in mind. Certificate programs are offered online or on-campus on weekends and have six start dates per year, making it easy to begin on your schedule. The MEd program is entirely online, except for your internship. The EdD program is fully online, allows you to use your current work as the basis for your dissertation, and includes early dissertation support so you can finish in three years or less.
The EdD program is designed for K-20 educators, healthcare professionals and others who are seeking advancement within educational environments. You do not need to be a traditional classroom teacher to qualify.
